Organization

Not a Non-Profit

JCCA is not a non-profit organization.  We have never sought any form of tax shelter status.  Members of our clubs provide the funds for their clubs to operate.  JCCA operating expenses are derived from club assessments, based on club participation in JCCA Activities.

It soon became apparent that a governing body, and a name, would be needed.  The leaders of the clubs formed a loose association, then formalized it, and then extended the sports to include swimming, diving, and softball.

 
bulletJCCA began with Men's Tennis.
bulletLadies' Tennis soon followed.
bulletJuniors' Tennis was the next logical step.
bulletThe additional Juniors' sports of Swimming and Diving, were natural extensions.
bulletSoftball followed
bulletThere have been many evolutions of team make-ups.
Initially there were four divisions of Men's Tennis:
  Red - top players             White - almost top players
  Blue - the third tier          Green - the "fun-level"
Red and White Divisions played on Saturday morning.
Blue and Green Divisions played  Tuesday evenings.
bulletLadies' Red Division played Saturday mornings.
Ladies Blue Division played Wednesday mornings.
